Before the Lich King reshaped death magic into the brutal art of the Death Knight, the Titans left their own mark on Azeroth — runes of binding, of time, of creation itself. The Runemasters were the first mortal scholars to study these inscriptions, warrior-priests of an age before the Sundering who learned to channel Titan script directly into combat.

Most were lost when the world broke. But in the deep vaults beneath Ulduar, the keeper Mimiron preserved their teachings in dormant constructs — waiting for champions worthy of awakening them. With the Lich King's power fracturing and the veil between life and death growing thin, the first new Runemasters in ten thousand years have begun to emerge from Northrend's frozen depths.

They are neither undead nor purely mortal. They carry the weight of Titan purpose and the scars of a world that has forgotten their order ever existed.

Gameplay Overview

The Runemaster is a hero class available to Alliance and Horde starting at level 55, beginning their story in Ulduar's outer halls. They use a unique Rune Charge resource system — six runes inscribed on their weapon that recharge over time, each tied to a school of magic.

Runemasters can fill three specialisation roles depending on their rune alignment:

Carve a rune of time into the ground, slowing all enemies within 8 yards by 60% and reducing their attack speed. Lasts 10 seconds.

Runic Detonation
Detonate all active runes on your weapon simultaneously, dealing arcane damage equal to 200% weapon damage for each rune consumed. Powerful but leaves you vulnerable.
All Rune Charges No cooldown Single target
Titan's Ward
Channel Titan energy into a protective barrier, absorbing damage equal to 30% of your maximum health. While active, runes recharge 50% faster.
3 Rune Charges 1.5 min cooldown Self
Frost Sigil
Brand a target with a sigil of frost. For 12 seconds, every attack against them has a 30% chance to shatter the sigil, dealing heavy frost damage and rooting them for 2 seconds.
