With the Lich King's power fracturing and the veil between life and death growing thin, the first new Runemasters in ten thousand years have begun to emerge from Northrend's frozen depths.

The Runemaster is a hero class available to Alliance and Horde starting at level 55, beginning their story in Ulduar's outer halls. They use a unique Rune Charge resource system — six runes inscribed on their weapon that recharge over time, each tied to a school of magic.
